So it is now officially Spring time – let’s hope it is the end of all this rain we have seen and we can start welcoming some warmer weather and longer days.
We have an event in the hall presently – the birthday celebration of Doreen Piggott who is celebrating her 100th birthday – what an amazing milestone. Many happy returns Doreen.
We have lots of one-off events coming up which are open to all so please come along and support them if you can.
On Wednesday 18th March Cambridgeshire District Council are hosting ‘Lets Get Everyone Healthy & Moving’. Aimed at the over 55’s, the day includes taster activities including new age kurling, Everyone Health free NHS health check & functional fitness MOT, a strength & balance session and falls prevention information. This is a free event and includes a healthy lunch. It runs from 11am to 2.30pm – no need to book.
On Wednesday 25th March The Cogwheel Trust are hosting a quiz to raise funds in aid of making counselling available for all. Tickets are £12 each and this includes a 2-course Venezuelan supper so that is great value. You can find more information here – https://www.cogwheel.org.uk/support-us/events/
Saturday 4th April is our family film – Frozen 2. This is your chance to see it on our big screen. Cost is £5 per child (accompanying adults free) and includes soft drinks and ice cream. Children are welcome to dress up or come along in their pyjamas/onesies and can also bring duvets or bean bags if they’d like to get cosy on the floor.
Doors open at 10am with the movie starting at 10.30am. No need to book.
This is being shown with the support of Club 55 Girton who will receive any profits from the day to contribute to their wonderful activities in the community.
We also have a new regular booking – Kids Yoga. This is launching with a short 4 week yoga course to introduce children 6-12 years to yoga and mindfulness. This is an ideal opportunity for your child(ren) to try out yoga before committing to the regular term of classes. Classes begin on Monday 9 March and run up to and including Monday 30 March. You can find out more information here – https://www.yogakidsclub.com/
