It is fantastic to be able to finally talk about reopening. With such a successful vaccine rollout and the days getting longer and warmer it is certainly looking and feeling a lot more positive!
The Community Centre reopening falls under ‘Step 2- no earlier than the 12th April’, so this is from when we are planning. Unfortunately many of our adult group classes are still not able to return until Step 3 but if you are interested in hiring the space and fall in to any of the below categories then we have good availability and would be happy to help:-
‘The Centre must only be attended/used in line with the wider social contact limits at this stage – as a single household or bubble indoors; or in a group of 6 people.’
‘Businesses eligible to host childcare and supervised activities for children will now be able to host these activities (including sport) for all children, regardless of circumstances.’
‘Support groups, supervised activities for children, parent-and-child groups (up to 15 people, not counting those aged under five), communal worship, or a wedding, reception or commemorative event like a wake.’
Things improve further under ‘Step 3 – no earlier than the 17th May’. From this date our adult groups such as exercise classes can return:-
At this step, both outdoor and indoor gatherings or events, organised by a business, charity, public body or similar organisation, can be organised, subject to specific conditions: that they comply with COVID-Secure guidance including taking reasonable steps to limit the risk of transmission, complete a related risk assessment; and ensure that those attending do not mix beyond what is permitted by the social contact limits (unless another exemption exists, such as for organised sport or exercise, supervised activities for children or a significant life event).
At this step, weddings, receptions, funerals, and commemorative events including wakes can proceed with up to 30 attendees. A broader range of stand-alone life events will also be permitted at this step, including bar mitzvahs and christenings.
Under ‘Step 4 – no earlier than the 21st June’ it is hoped that all limits on social contact will be removed.
If you require any further clarification about what is permitted, you will find further information here –
The Government will be constantly reviewing the dates for each step and they may be pushed back. If you make a booking and the activity is no longer permitted due to legal changes then this overrides our standard cancellation policy and any monies paid will be refunded so you can book with confidence.
Keep an eye on our activities page on the website as this will be updated with return dates for our regular hirers and with details of any future events.
We cannot wait to welcome you back.
